Boskoopse Verse Hop Blond

Once a year fresh Cascade hop is harvested from the garden of Jan Kees Velthoven, a fellow hobby-brewer in Boskoop. From the fresh harvested hops a beer is brewed the same day.

In 2021 a Blond-beer with a Kveik yeast, in 2022 a more traditional Blond-beer.

Harvesting the hops at 10:00, starting brewing around 12:00 and a BBQ around 19:00, with a home-brewed beer in the glass; a very nice tradition!

Mash-scheme: 23 liter Boskoops water with 2.5gr CaSO4, 1.5gr CaCl2 and 5.5ml lactic-acid (80%)
Beta-amylase: 45 minutes at 64oC
stirring after 15 minutes
In 5 minutes heating to 72oC
Alpha-amylase: 45 minutes at 72oC
In 5 minutes heating to 78oC
10 minutes mash-out at 78oC
Spoelen:
Rinsed with 5.6 liter Boskoops water with 1.0ml lactic acid at 80oC
Fermentation: 20 days in CCT, no draining of yeast
